The Vice President, Clinical Research is responsible for establishing and leading the function, leveraging the Danaher Business System in the timely, high-quality execution of global clinical evidence programs, and leading a global team that supports new product development strategy.

This position reports to the SVP, Regulatory & Global Clinical Affairs DHR Diagnostics and is part of the Clinical Affairs Shared Services team and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provides strategic oversight of the Global Clinical team responsible for translating global market needs and regulatory requirements into successful clinical evidence strategies, which includes clinical trial strategy, biostatistics and data management, study management, clinical compliance, and execution to ensure market access and product lifecycle sustainment
  • Maintains current knowledge of innovative clinical evidence strategies, using that knowledge and critical thinking to evaluate and resolve key complex business challenges across a highly diverse product portfolio spanning diagnostics, life sciences, and biotechnology
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with leaders across Danaher operating companies, influencing the clinical operational strategy and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
  • Assesses clinical capabilities across the global team, implementing structured competency frameworks to identify skill gaps and development opportunities, while leading targeted talent acquisition efforts to recruit and onboard high-caliber clinical research professionals; builds and sustains high-performing teams by cultivating a pipeline of specialized expertise across clinical operations, biostatistics, regulatory compliance, and emerging diagnostic technologies.
  • Drives operational efficiencies and implements best practices across clinical operations, standardizing processes and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality outcomes
  • Develop clinical evidence strategies to support novel diagnostic products, including those that use machine learning and AI technology to improve clinical outcomes
  • Manages departmental budget and financial resources, ensuring optimal allocation, least burdensome clinical study designs, and cost-effective operations across all clinical affairs activities, including benchmarking study costs against industry standards to drive competitive, data-informed financial decision-making.

The essential requirements of the job include:

    • Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Research, or a related field, or an M.D.
    • A minimum of 10 years of industry or relevant experience successfully executing in vitro diagnostic studies.
    • At least 7 years of supervisory experience is required.
    • This position requires directly related experience in Clinical Program planning and execution, including an understanding of clinical strategy, regulatory affairs, assay/instrument principles involving in vitro diagnostic product design and usage, the scientific, statistical, regulatory and compliance requirements of clinical research, compliant medical communications, and the development and launch of medical products of diverse regulatory classification.
    • Demonstrated career success in achieving commercial release of products related to diagnostics, life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical development is highly desirable.
    • Experience with novel diagnostics products including machine learning and AI technology applications in clinical settings is preferred.
    • Proven success at a senior leadership level, working in a matrixed business structure with experience managing global teams across multiple operating companies and ensuring clinical affairs systems meet worldwide regulatory requirements.

    Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

    • Ability to travel globally
    • Travel up to 30%

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    • Experience with Molecular, Companion Diagnostics, Clinical Chemistry Instruments and Assays, and Neurodevelopmental DisabilitiesandDisorders preferred.

    The annual salary range for this role is $250,00 - $375,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
