Performance & Cost Improvement Senior Manager
Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and implement practical solutions before, during, and after major transformational projects or transactions creating lasting impact.

Deloitte's Performance & Cost Improvement (P&CI) practitioners sit within the Performance Improvement & Restructuring (PI&R) offering in our broader Strategy & Transactions practice. This team helps clients improve profitability, cash flow, and operating performance through cost transformation, productivity improvement, and operating model change. Work You'll Do

As a Senior Manager, Cost Improvement on the Performance Improvement & Restructuring team, you will be responsible for helping clients address margin pressure, improve performance, and execute transformation initiatives.
  • Advise clients on financial, operational, and transaction-related issues that affect business performance and value creation
  • Lead cost transformation, productivity improvement, and operating model initiatives across complex client environments
  • Conduct client interviews, analyze data from multiple sources, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance
  • Oversee project workstreams, review team deliverables, and coach junior practitioners to support quality execution
  • Develop client-ready materials, present findings and recommendations, and contribute to proposal and practice development activities

The Team
PI&R defines and leads enterprise Board and C-Suite agendas for non-distressed, underperforming, and distressed clients to improve margins, operational and financial performance, navigate financial difficulties, and improve cashflow to fund critical transformations.

Deloitte's P&CI professionals help clients address margin pressure through cost reduction, productivity improvement, and operating model transformation. The team collaborates with a global network of more than 21,000 M&A specialists serving corporate and private equity clients across more than 150 countries, bringing experience in transformation, working capital and liquidity, post-merger integration, synergy planning and capture, analytics, and business model change.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in management consulting or industry roles focused on operations improvement, transformation, mergers and acquisitions integration, or business process reengineering
  • 8+ years of experience in financial analysis using data from multiple sources to identify value creation opportunities and develop models in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Tableau, or similar tools
  • 8+ years of experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including integration, separation, Day One readiness, synergy targeting, or synergy realization
  • 8+ years of experience in operating model design, organizational design, cost transformation, or productivity improvement
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:
  • 8+ years of experience working in a professional services or consulting firm
  • Experience developing executive presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint and process maps in Microsoft Visio
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and other analytics tools
  • Experience leading multiple project workstreams concurrently
  • Experience mentoring junior professionals
  • Advanced degree

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New Jersey, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to New Jersey and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $223,700 to $372,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
